Having perused quite a few profiles, I have noticed that almost everyone thinks they're odd, or strange in some way. That makes me disappointingly normal.

I don't know.
It's certainly intriguing though...
It might be normal. Maybe even biblical (I’m thinking of Jesus and his subversion of conventional expectations about the God’s kingdom, though there’s probably more).
Maybe this is relevant? In April’s Thrid Way there was a great article by Lucy Winkett – she recounts taking a mental health patient around St. Paul’s in London. He found the painting Light of the World as relevant to his struggle with schizophrenia. Winkett reveals that she always “secretly despised” the painting, but was given a new perspective on prayer by the questions that the picture provoked. If I could find the column online, I’d email it to you.
