I came across your site while blog surfing around (something I like to do when I'm board :-). You have a really cool blog. If you are interested, go see my Weird & Curious eBay Auctions site. It's just a fun site but you may find something to entertain you. You can't help but wonder, do people really sell this stuff??

Karen,
do you mean the word I gave as the title to the post? (Actually, it was meant to be two words but the space between them is almost invisible) Or do you mean 'bored'/'board'? Does that mean the PGCE isn't going so well?

My course has been pretty easy so far. I haven't had to produce any work - except Greek translation for class which I mostly enjoy. I'm having to learn a lot of new vocabulary though - about 20 or 30 words per passage.

Otherwise, I'm starting to uderstand some of the issues of NT1 a bit better. In particular the synoptic problem which is pretty central to the way one goes about solving other problems. I'm reading Mark Goodacre's book on the subject. It seems that Jim's/J. C. O'Neill's view is extremely rare and Goodacre doesn't really address it directly because virtually everyone accepts Markan priority. Goodacre provides some pretty convincing evidence for Markan priority too, I think.

It might be a good exercise/essay/dissertation to find a fuller exposition of O'Neill's view and see whether there's any milage in it. It would be nice if there were but it has some significant hurdles to overcome.

That's probably more than you wanted to know but at least I have answered you now.
