A modest proposal

As much as I might sound cynical in casual conversation, I think I'm still quite naiive and idealistic in practice. It seems I still expect the best of people and I'm shocked when they disappoint me.

So, in recognition of my newly discovered innocence, I've decided to canonise myself. I'll send my petition to Rome to be made the patron saint of all unassertive people.
I can't think of a more deserving humble candidate, except for Emily, and all my other friends who would never think to suggest themselves.

I can't believe you track us all and figure out where we're from, how often we visit and how long we stay...nothing is secret any more. I just might not come by again...ever....

What are you talking about? You're deranged!

It was nice chatting to you tonight, Miss Leahy, and I hope that your sudden departure was due to connection problems rather than the starnge person outside your house.

No, I'm not really anonymous. I'm Primrose...and...

...no, I'm not deranged at all. And well you know it.

My departure that night was indeed due to a loss of internet connection due to a power cut...something that is only too frequent in Kosovan life, but which is now only an issue for those living outside of Category A areas. Since the beginning of December, every neighbourhood in Kosova has a category code, depending on how much of the overall electricity bill for the neighbourhood has been paid. Category A residents have full power supply at all times. Category B have 5 hours on and 1 hour off, while Category C have 4 hours on and 2 hours off.

We live in Category A :) The house where I get my internet connection is in Category C :(

I'm in Ireland at the minute, still feeling a bit spaced-out, but looking forward to the festivities with my family.

Happy Christmas!

Primrose,

Good to see that you did actually come back. Good to know that you made it home safely too, despite marauders in Kosova.

And a Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you too :)

Guess what! I have a new modem in my laptop :) Guess what that means! I'm very happy! So happy that I'm sitting here at 3:02am!

Hope you've had a pleasant Christmas and that you've survived the weekend celebrations. Here's to a new year filled with positive internet connections and lacking in late-night prowlers.

Cheers!

Primrose :)

When I'm extatically happy I always make sure that I take a seat at around 3am.

I've been trying to catch you on msn lately, obviously, I haven't been staying up late enough.

Are you still in the 'freestate'?

I've just been in NI for a few days. The plan was to visit friends and do some mission related stuff (meetings). But, my uncle who lived in Lisburn died on Wednesday and because I was the only close relative to my aunt in the area, I ended up spending quite a lot of time with her. I was so thankful I was there, but of course it was a very sad time. I'm in Athy again now, 6 days left till I return to Kosova. I haven't been on MSN lately, although I did sign in last night but there was no-one in sight.

Must sleep....

Primrose :)

Primrose,
I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I guess it was good for your aunt that you were there at the right time.

Anyway, I'm not sure which country you're in now but hopefully I'll catch you online again sometime soon.
